Nike Air Max 1 “Big Head Mode” Inspired by GoldenEye 007

Nike’s .SWOOSH division brings gaming memories to life once again. After exciting releases inspired by Tomb Raider and Donkey Kong, Nike now focuses on GoldenEye 007. This classic game, launched in 1997 on Nintendo 64, remains iconic today. The newest Air Max 1 colorway is named “Big Head Mode”, a playful nod to the famous cheat in the game.
In GoldenEye 007, the “Big Head” mode makes characters’ heads larger. This made headshots easier and added fun to the game. Now, Nike uses this idea to create a bold sneaker design. The result is a perfect blend of gaming and sneaker culture.
The sneaker features a black and white upper, reflecting James Bond’s sharp tuxedo look. Gold details are added in tribute to the game’s famous Golden Gun. The design also includes Nike Air branding on the heels, accented by red and blue bars — a playful nod to the health and armor meters from GoldenEye 007.
Before its physical release, the sneaker debuted digitally in Fortnite’s Item Shop. Players could outfit their avatars with the virtual pair, adding a fun crossover between gaming and sneaker culture.
